Getting Started
Pick your path based on how you work:
- Using an AI coding tool? → Pyth MCP Server — lets Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf pull live Pyth data directly
- Building an AI agent? → Pyth Skills + MCP Server
- Traditional developer? → Pyth docs + API reference
- Pyth Pro: docs.pyth.network/price-feeds/pro
Don’t overthink it. Connect, build, deploy. You have 4 weeks. Ship something.
FAQ
Q: Can I use AI tools like Claude, Cursor, or Replit Agent?
A: Yes. Encouraged, actually. This is “vibe coding.” Use whatever tools help you ship.
Q: Can I submit multiple projects?
A: No. One submission per person/team per round.
Q: What if I’m new to coding?
A: That’s the point. Use the Pyth MCP Server (live now) to let AI coding tools like
Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf pull Pyth data directly. There are also Pyth Skills you can
plug into your AI workflows. You don’t need a CS degree — just an idea and an AI co-pilot.
Q: What blockchains are supported?
A: Any chain where Pyth has integration. Solana, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, etc. Full list: pyth.network/price-feeds
Q: Can I build off-chain tools?
A: Yes. Agents, bots, dashboards, analytics tools — all valid. You don’t have to deploy a
smart contract.
Q: Where do I get Pyth Pro access?
A: Post in this thread and an API Key will be DM’ed to you within 24hrs. These keys remain active throughout the Hackathon and will be disabled after judging has concluded.
Q: Can I work with a team?
A: Yes, max 2 people per team.
Q: Do I need to be a Pyth community member already?
A: No. Anyone can participate (subject to eligibility rules). Although you will benefit greatly from joining the Discord.
Q: What happens to my code after the hackathon?
A: You keep ownership. Apache 2.0 license means others can fork and build on it (with
attribution), but it’s still yours.
Q: Can Pyth employees participate?
A: Yes, but they must disclose affiliation and are not eligible for prizes.
Q: How do I share my submission?
A: Create a new topic in the Pyth Community Hackathon category using the pinned Submission Template. Also share the forum link in Discord for community visibility.
Q: When are winners announced?
A: April 15, 2026. Check the pinned Official Rules for the full timeline.
