Clarification on Displaying Equity Price Data in Trading Journal App

Hi Pyth team,

I’m building a trading journal app and backtesting platform traders. I’d like to clarify the terms for displaying
Pyth’s equity price data (US stocks)/ crypto and others within my application.

Use case:

  • Display real-time stock prices in user portfolios
  • Calculate P&L for closed positions
  • Show price charts for trade analysis
  • All data displayed only within authenticated user sessions
  • No public API endpoints or data redistribution
  • Would include “Prices via Pyth Network” attribution

Questions:

  1. Is displaying Pyth equity prices in my app’s UI considered acceptable “display/use” rather than redistribution?
  2. Are there specific attribution or disclaimer requirements for equity data?
  3. Any additional compliance requirements for US equity prices vs crypto?

Project details:

  • :hammer_and_wrench: dApp/Project: trading journal & backtracking
  • :link: Chains: off chain

Want to ensure I’m fully compliant before integrating equity price feeds. Thanks!

your described usage appears acceptable from Pyth’s perspective, attribution as stated is fine, and any regulatory obligations for specific asset classes are for you to assess and manage.

let us know if you’d like us to connect you with someone from the team for a deeper technical integration discussion.
